HELSINKI, Finland – MacGregor has received an order for two active heave-compensated (AHC) offshore cranes for a new Norwegian subsea inspection, maintenance and repair and construction vessel.

A 250-metric ton and a 15-metric ton MacGregor subsea crane will be installed on the 129-m (456-ft) vessel. The 250-metric ton unit will have its winch installed below the working deck and will also feature wire rope integrity.

The cranes will enable subsea operations to depths of between 2,600 m (8,530 ft) and 3,000 m (9,842 ft), and both will be fitted with a MacGregor Arctic package for cold-climate operations. The Skipsteknisk ST-259-design vessel is scheduled for delivery at the end of 2015.
