    Fairmount Marine tug delivers Ocean Valiant rig to Las Palmas

    ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands – Fairmount Marine’s tug Fairmount Summit has delivered the Ocean Valiantrig to the port of Las Palmas, Canary Islands. The Fairmount Summit towed the rig from offshore Cameroon over a distance of almost 3,000 mi (4,828 km).

    TheOcean Valiant is a semisubmersible drilling rig owned by Diamond

    Offshore Drilling Inc. The rig is 122 m (400 ft) long, 71 m (233 ft) wide, and 37 m (121 ft) high. It is capable of drilling up to 10,000 m (32,808 ft) deep.
