BMS receives contract award and renewed ISO 9001:2008 certification

BOA Marine Services (BMS) is reporting two major achievements: a jacket launch contract award fromPermaducto S.A. de C.V., and its renewed ISO 9001:2008 certificationof its quality management system.

For this contract, BMS will transport and install four jackets to be launched in the Gulf of Mexico. It will also use two heavy-lift semisubmersible barges, BOA Barge 29 (BB29) and BOA Barge 30 (BB30), to perform the jacket launches. The BMS barges will have rocker arms and skid beams installed, and the capability of launching a jacket weighing approximately 3,200 metric tons.

The scope of work that BMS will perform includes the design, procurement, and installation of the rocker arms and skid beams per the heaviest jacket launch requirements, while the BMS in-house engineering group will create ballast plans for each jacket. BMS will perform launch analysis and will operate ballast systems during load-out and launching operations.

The contract represents the first jacket launching award for BB29 and BB30, and the project is currently scheduled to begin in November.
