Huisman wins Brazil offshore crane orders

Huisman’s new crane production facility in Navegantes, Brazil, has won its first order.

SCHIEDAM, the Netherlands– Huisman’s new crane production facility in Navegantes, Brazil, has won its first order.

This includes three identical sets of cranes for the newbuild offshore construction vesselsCassino, Curumim, and Salinas.

Each set comprises two 60-metric ton (66-ton) pedestal mountedoffshore cranes, two 60-metric ton knuckle boom cranes (KBCs) and one 12-metric ton (13-t) pipe handling KBC.

Applications include unloading of supply vessels, pipe handling, offshore construction work, and subsea installation. Deliveries will start in 2015 and finish in 3Q 2017.

Construction of the new production facility started in 2010 in Navegantes, alongside the river Itajai-Açu in Santa Catarina state in southern Brazil. It is expected to be operational next year.

Additionally,Huisman will deliver three 550-metric ton (606-ton) tiltable lay systems for Subsea 7 and two 650-metric ton (716-ton) and two 340-metric ton (375-ton) tiltable lay systems for Technip-DOF.
