NPD approves more wells offshore Norway

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has authorized exploration drilling at three sites offshore Norway.

OSLO, Norway – The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has authorized exploration drilling at three sites offshore Norway.

The semisubmersibleOcean Vanguard will drill well 30/9-25 in license Pl 104 for Statoil, after completing a current wildcat for the same operator in the Oseberg area.

Songa Trym will drill well 6608/10-15 in Norwegian Sea PL 128 for Statoil, after concluding work on another wildcat in the region for the same operator.

Finally, Det norske oljeselskap has clearance to use the jackupMærsk Giant to drill well 2/1-15, the first on PL 542 in the North Sea, which was awarded early in 2009.
