BERGEN, Norway – Odfjell Drilling’s semisub Deepsea Bergen will be berthed at the Coast Centre Base (CCB) yard for much of next month to undergo modifications for continued drilling service for Statoil offshore Norway.

The modification program includes a change of completion equipment, installation of blisters to improve variable deck load, installation of a new BOP crane, a change of cement unit, and installation of a new local electrical room.

Deepsea Bergen is a harsh environment drilling rig currently working on the Åsgard field in the Norwegian Sea. The rig previously underwent an upgrade for Statoil last year at the Westcon yard in Ølen, Norway.
