SINGAPORE – Sembcorp Marine has signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Aramco and National Shipping Co. of Saudi Arabia (Bahri).

The pair plan to prepare a detailed feasibility assessment aimed at developing a “world-class” maritime yard in Saudi Arabia.

This facility would provide engineering, manufacturing, and repair services for rigs, platforms, offshore service, and commercialvessels.

According to Sembcorp, Saudi Aramco is committed to promoting economic development in the Kingdom and to ensuring local availability of services to support its growing national and international portfolio.

Aramco’s subsidiary Vela International Marine merged with Bahri last November.
