Turkish shipyard to build vessel for Volstad subsea work

Volstad Shipping has contracted Tersan Shipyard in Yalova, Turkey, to build a subsea IMR and construction vessel, at an estimated cost of $131 million.

AALESUND, Norway – Volstad Shipping has contracted Tersan Shipyard in Yalova, Turkey, to build a subsea IMR and construction vessel, at an estimated cost of $131 million.

The ST-259-design vessel will have main dimensions of 128.5 m x 25 m (421 x 82 ft) and is expected to be delivered in late 2015.

Fearnley Offshore Supply, which participated in development of the design, will also handle chartering of the ship.
