Keppel adds Grupo R jackup to newbuild queue

Keppel Offshore & Marine subsidiary Keppel FELS has received an order worth $206 million from Mexico’s Grupo R for a newbuild jackup.

SINGAPORE – Keppel Offshore & Marine subsidiary Keppel FELS has received an order worth $206 million from Mexico’s Grupo R for a newbuild jackup.

The KFELS B Class rig is scheduled for delivery in 4Q 2015. Grupo R hasfour similar jackups on order with Keppel FELS.

The customized rig will be able to operate in water depths up to 400 ft (122 m) and to drill to depths of 30,000 ft (9,144 m).
