RIO DE JANEIROHRT’s second exploration well offshore Namibia was reported as a dry hole.

Murombe-1 was drilled in petroleum exploration license 23 in the Walvis basin. Despite the outcome, results re-confirmed the presence of Aptian source rock in the oil window encountered during drilling of theWingat-1 well.

The primary Murombe target was a Barremian age turbidite fan system, while the secondary Baobab target was a shallower Santonian age structure. In both cases, average porosity was 19% and no reservoir was encountered.
