Hallin to refurbish gas pipeline offshore Indonesia

Hallin Marine has won a pipeline services contract for an unnamed project offshore northwest Java.

SINGAPORE – Hallin Marine has won a pipeline services contract for an unnamed project offshore northwest Java.

This calls for installation of new control taps and a bypass for the mainpipeline, which supplies 60% of Jakarta’s gas needs.

Hallin will provide full saturation-diving services from theUllswatersubsea operations vessel, which will be equipped with an ROV for subsea observation and process monitoring.

Also on location will be theDSV Carlisle, which has a Hallin-designed/built modular SAT system permanently mounted on deck. Other features include DP-2 dynamic positioning, accommodation for 126 personnel, and a four-point mooring system.

Hallin teams on the two vessels will perform removal of concrete coating on existing pipelines, pipeline integrity checks, spools installation, pre-commissioning assistance, installation of hot-taps at various locations, and the fitting of underwater pipe-closure stopples.
