NEW ORLEANS –The gas flow at the Hercules 265 jackup working in South Timbalier 220 for Walter Oil & Gas has stopped. The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement said the well has bridged over and all that was burning was residual gas.
Hercules Offshore said the rig remained standing, but the derrick package appears to be damaged.
Further details are pending a return to the rig and platform.
