Busy heavy transport schedule for Dockwise Vanguard

Dockwise has won new contracts since mid-June for heavy marine transport and transport and installation (T&I) services.

PAPENDRECHT, the Netherlands – Dockwise has won new contracts since mid-June for heavy marine transport and transport and installation (T&I) services. Total value is around $175 million, according to new parent company Royal Boskalis Westminster.

The short-term heavy marine transport contracts, mainly for transportation of jackup rigs, are all scheduled to start in the next few months. They include transportation of large newbuild rigs from Singapore to Brazil in 2013/2014 on theDockwise Vanguard, claimed to be the world’s largest semisubmersible heavy-lift vessel.

Dockwise has four new longer-term heavy marine transport contracts, of which two include a float-over T&I component. The company will transport a jacket and topsides for delivery in Malaysia, and install the 15,000-metric ton (16,534-ton) topsides via the float-over method in 2015.

Also that year, Dockwise will install the topsides for Statoil’sAasta Hansteen spar-based development in the Norwegian Sea using a dual barge float-over.

In 2016, the company will transport a fixed production structure on behalf of Statoil from South Korea to Norway.

Under the fourth contract,Dockwise Vanguard will transport an FPSO from the Far East to West Africa in 2016.
