NEW ORLEANS –The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has released the details for Western Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale 233.
The sale will be Aug. 28 and will cover 20.7 million acres of federal lands offshore Texas. The sale offers 3,864 blocks, located from 9 to 250 mi (14.5 to 402 km) offshore, in water depths ranging from 16 to more than 10,975 ft (5 to 3,346 m).
The sale includes all available unleased or non-protected areas in the Western Gulf of Mexico Planning Area.
