Aker wins Cosco accommodation rig mooring contract

Aker Solutions is supplying a Pusnes wire mooring system for an accommodation unit under construction at Cosco Nantong Shipyard in China.

FORNEBU, Norway – Aker Solutions is supplying a Pusnes wire mooring system for an accommodation unit under construction at Cosco Nantong Shipyard in China.

Equipment for the cylindrically-shaped unit, to be operated byLogitel Offshore, has been designed to comply with DNV’s latest standards.

It will include three triple wire winches handling wire 450 m (1,476 ft) of 90-mm dia. wire, three control cabins, nine wire fairleads, three hydraulic power units, and a control system. The contract value is around $6.67 million.

The wire mooring systems will be commissioned at the shipyard, with deliveries scheduled for May and October 2014. Additionally, Aker has an option to supply equipment for a second unit.
