Wärtsilä to design latest Subsea 7 construction vessel

Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has contracted Wärtsilä to design a large heavy construction vessel (HCV) for Subsea 7.

HELSINKI, Finland – Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has contracted Wärtsilä to design a large heavy construction vessel (HCV) for Subsea 7.

The new VS 4285 design HCV will be deployed globally and will work year-round in deep and ultra-deepwater and in harsher environments. Features will include strong DP capability and an efficient hull form.

Huisman will supply the crane and vertical laying system, and MAATS the carousel.
