Saipem lands deepwater Egina subsea spread offshore Nigeria

Total Upstream Nigeria has awarded Saipem a $3-billion contract involving the Egina field subsea facilities offshore Nigeria.

SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Total Upstream Nigeria has awarded Saipem a $3-billion contract involving the Egina field subsea facilities offshore Nigeria.

Egina is in Oil Mining Lease 130, 100 km (62 mi) from the coast and south of Port Harcourt. Water depth is up to 1,700 m (5,577 ft).

Saipem’s work scope covers engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and pre-commissioning of 52 km (32 mi) of oil production and water injection flowlines; 12 flexible jumpers; 20 km (12 mi) of gas export pipelines; 80 km (49.7 mi) of umbilicals; and the mooring and offloading systems.

The contractor will conduct marine activities during 2016 and into 2Q 2017.

Most of the fabrication will be handled by the Saipem Rumoulumeni Yard in Port Harcourt.
