STOCKHOLM, Sweden – The semisubmersible Bredford Dolphin has spudded Lundin Norway’s latest delineation well on the Johan Sverdrup field in the central Norwegian North Sea.
The location of well 16/3-6 is on the field’s northeastern flank. Lundin’s main aims are to establish the depth, quality, and thickness of the Jurassic reservoir sequences 3.3 km (2.05 mi) southeast of well 16/2-13S, drilled on the north flank, and 2 km (1.2 mi) northwest of well 16/3-4.
Planned TD is about 2,025 m (6,643 ft) below mean sea level. Drilling is expected to last 50 days.
