Reef Despina to assist subsea cable lay offshore Angola

Saipem Offshore has awarded Reef Subsea a cable lay job offshore Angola.

BERGEN, Norway – Saipem Offshore has awarded Reef Subsea a cable lay job offshore Angola.

TheReef Despina subsea construction vessel will transit to West Africa for a 30-day firm charter to provide support during installation of five subsea electrical cables for the Palanca project in block 3. Water depths range from 40-100 m (131-328 ft).

The vessel will be equipped with a cable lay spread and will provide ROV and crane assistance during the cable installation.

Sister vesselReef Larissa has been performing ROV and survey operations, structure installation, and commissioning support on two projects offshore West Africa for major oil and gas operators.

Both vessels are outfitted with 150-metric ton (165-ton)active heave-compensated cranes and two work class ROVs, capable of operation down to 3,000 m (9,842 ft).
