HOUSTON– Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations and partner SCL Resources have conducted a successful flow test of the recently side tracked High Island A443 #A¬5 in the Gulf of Mexico.

The GA–Series Lower interval has tested at a stabilized flow rate of 1,200 b/d. The flowing tubing pressure was 1,150 psi on a 24/64-in. choke. The GA–Series oil stringer was also encountered, which is a new reservoir not seen in offset wells.

The company said there is a 7% increase in oil and a 17% increase overall in its gas/oil mix.

“The successful flow test conducted at HI A443 is another significant milestone for Black Elk Energy”, says John Hoffman, president and CEO of Black Elk Energy. “We are extremely pleased with these results and confident in the future success of our 2013 drilling program.”
