Statoil enlists EMAS AMC for Smørbukk South tie-ins

Statoil has awarded EMAS AMC a $75-million contract for the Smørbukk South Extensions project in the Norwegian Sea.

SINGAPOREStatoil has awarded EMAS AMC a $75-million contract for the Smørbukk South Extensions project in the Norwegian Sea.

EMAS AMC’s contract scope includes engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of flexible flowlines, tie-in spools, a manifold and umbilical, and associated abandonment and removal activities.

Offshore activities are expected to start next spring and the project is estimated to last through 2015. Work will be managed out of EMAS AMC’s Oslo office.

The field, discovered in 1985, holds recoverable reserves of 16.5 MMboe, and will be developed with a new subsea template connected to infrastructure in the area.
