HOUSTON– Magma Global has developed s-pipe, a small diameter flexible pipe suitable for intervention applications that require a combination of high-pressure, high-temperature, sour-service and fatigue performance, and will introduce it at OTC.
Magma says the s-pipe has the same fundamental qualities as m-pipe, the company’s carbon fiber polymer pipe, but offers a smaller minimum bend radius. The pipe uses Victrex PEEK thermoplastic polymer and a combination of higher strain fibers to facilitate lightweight and reel-ability for challenging intervention and work-over applications.
5-, 10-, 15-, and 20-ksi versions of s-pipe are available in diameters up to 3-in.
