TRONDHEIM, Norway – Det norske oljeselskap expects production to start before mid-year on the Jette field in the Norwegian North Sea.

This will be the first oil produced by the company as an operator. Det norske has a 70% interest in the project.

Modifications have been completed to the hostJotun platform, operated by ExxonMobil. Only testing remains before production can start.

Det norske adds that Wintershall’s recent Asha discovery in license PL457 has been confirmed as an eastern extension of theIvar Aasen field.
