Hebron gravity-based structure skirt in place

Construction is under way at the Bull Arm yard in St. John’s of the gravity-based structure (GBS) for ExxonMobil’s Hebron platform offshore Newfoundland and Labrador.

OSLO, Norway – Construction is under way at the Bull Arm yard in St. John’s of the gravity-based structure (GBS) for ExxonMobil’s Hebron platform offshore Newfoundland and Labrador.

Kvaerner ASA says the GBS steel skirt installation has been completed and rebar installation in the base slab is proceeding according to plan.

In Europe, Kvaerner expects sail away before mid-year of two jackets it has built for BP’sClair Ridge project west of Shetland.

Fabrication of theEdvard Grieg and Martin Linge field jackets continues at the Norwegian Verdal yard and with subcontractors.

At the Stord yard, the major activity over the coming months will be assembly on ConocoPhillips Norge’sEldfisk 2/7S project. All major elements have been delivered to the yard and final assembly is progressing.

The focus of the Edvard Grieg topsides project over the next quarter will be on detailed design and procurement work. Fabrication started in four different locations in mid-April.
