WOODBRIDGE, UK – Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has commissioned Amarinth to supply API 610 VS4 vertical sump pumps for BP’s new Quad 204 FPSO.

The pumps will operate the produced water treatment and reservoir pressure maintenance re-injection package on the vessel, which will replace an existing FPSO west of Shetland in the far north of the UK sector.

HHI required two 7-m (23-ft) long stainless steel pumps for used within the dosing system for storage and removal of sodium nitrate.

BP has demanding foundry and supplier approval audit standards that Amarinth had complied with on previous projects, and this was a factor in the company winning the order. Another factor was the company’s ability to supply the equipment within a tight 28-week schedule.
