PARIS –Total has awarded Technip a lump-sum engineering, procurement, supply, construction, installation, and pre-commissioning contract for the Moho Nord project offshore Republic of Congo. The location is 75 km (46.6 mi) offshore in water depths ranging from 650-1,100 m (2,132-3,609 ft).

The project takes in two simultaneous developments, Moho Phase 1bis and Moho Nord, with first oil expected respectively in 2015 and 2016.

Moho Nord is based around a new floating production unit and a new TLP, with an oil export line to the Djeno onshore terminal and a tie-in to the shallow-water N’Kossa platform for gas exchange. Moho Phase 1bis involves tiebacks to the existing deepwater Alima FPU.

Technip’s scope covers provision and installation of 230 km (143 mi) of rigid pipelines, 23 km (14.3 mi) of flexible pipes, 50 km (31 mi) of umbilicals, 50 subsea structures and other components and rigid jumpers. Additionally, the company will install client-supplied manifolds and pumps, control system components, and multi-phase jumpers.

Offshore construction will be phased during 2014, 2015, and 2016. Main installation vessels will be Technip’sG1200 rigid pipe S-lay and heavy-lift construction vessel, and the multi-purpose vessel Deep Pioneer.

Technip’s operating center in Paris will perform overall project management and engineering, with Flexi France in Le Trait, Normandy manufacturing the flexible pipes, and DUCO in Newcastle, UK supplying the umbilicals. Technip will also engage Pointe-Noire-based contractors to fabricate various steel structures in Congo.
