Subsea 7 extends Kommandor 3000 contract

Petrobras has signed a contract worth more than $350 million with Subsea 7 for operation of the pipe lay support vessel Kommandor 3000.

LUXEMBOURG – Petrobras has signed a contract worth more than $350 million with Subsea 7 for operation of the pipe lay support vessel Kommandor 3000. The five-year agreement will begin this year, during which time the ship will spend about 90 days in dry dock, Subsea 7 said.

Work scope includes project management, engineering and installation of Petrobras-supplied flexible lines and equipment on a day rate basis. The vessel has been working for Petrobras in Brazil under asix-year contract that began February 2007.

Kommandor 3000, built in 1999, can install flexible lines, umbilicals and equipment in water depths up to 2,000 m (6,562 ft).
