The semisubmersible Ocean General has spudded the Bedug-1 exploration well in the Bontang PSC offshore Indonesia for operator Salamander Energy.

LONDON – The semisubmersible Ocean General has spudded the Bedug-1 exploration well in the Bontang PSC offshore Indonesia for operator Salamander Energy.

The well will be drilled in water depth of 460 m (1,509 ft) and will target gas and oil pay in Upper Miocene and Lower Pliocene channel sands on the crest of the Bedug structure. Location is east of the Angklung-1 gas discovery and 500 m (1,640 ft) updip of the recentSouth Kecapi-1 ST oil and gas find.
