PARIS – CGG says two of its ocean bottom seismic crews (OBC) operating offshore Saudi Arabia for Saudi Aramco have had trouble-free operations.

To date the crews have completed respectively six million and five million man-hours of continuous operations without a lost time incident. They are operated byARGAS, CGG’s joint venture with TAQA in Saudi Arabia.

OBC crews S66 and S65 have been working in the region for more than two years. Both have been recording four-component data with the Sercel SeaRay seabed acquisition system. Each crew deploys 250 people and eight to 10 vessels in areas said to be congested with offshore production facilities, pipelines, and vessel routes.
