ABERDEEN, UK – BP has re-engaged AMEC to provide operations, maintenance, and project support for an additional two years to the Forties Pipeline System (FPS) in the UK central North Sea.
Contract value is £10-15 million/yr ($15.2-22.8 million/yr), depending on activity levels. Terms apply through December 2014.
AMEC will assume increased responsibility for running, maintaining, and improving the year-round, 24-hour operation of BP’sUnity platform, linked to the Apache-operated Forties field production complex, and of four onshore pumping stations that are part of the FPS.
Its personnel will work with BP’s team on the project, with further staff recruited when the work scope demands.
The FPS can transport more than 750,000 b/d and carries about 40% of the UK’s oil production.
