ABERDEEN, UK – RWE expects to start drilling soon on the Severn prospect in the UK southern gas basin, according to partner Dana Petroleum.

Severn, in blocks 43/17a, 43/18a, comprises Carboniferous sandstones. Dana expects the well to reach total depth within seven weeks.

Earlier, Dana completed a dry hole well on theMagnolia lower Cretaceous prospect in UK block 13/23a. The drilling rig Ocean Nomad will likely resume work for Dana later this year on the Western Isles project development.
