BOULOGNE-BILLANCOURT, France – Vallourec has completed qualification of its new tubular connections finishing plant in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
Zamil Pipes, resulting from the acquisition in 2011 of Saudi Seamless Pipes Factory Co., will provide heat treatment and threading of Vallourec’s full range of VAM premium connections. With an annual capacity of 100,000 tons, it will supply mainlySaudi Aramco and other regional operators.
The finishing plant comprises a heat treatment unit, a new threading unit, and a coupling shop. It is qualified to perform all operations required for production of premium connections using hollows provided by Vallourec’s pipe mills.
Vallourec plans to boost employee numbers at the facility by the end of this year to 200.
