TAQA contracts subsea control spread for Cladhan offshore North Sea

WESTHILL, UK – Proserv has won two subsea control contracts in the North Sea worth a combined value of more than $23.4 million.

One, from TAQA, involves control of subsea wells on theCladhan field, 16.5 km (10.2 mi) from the Tern platform. Proserv will implement a system to control three subsea wells; the system, using the company’s open communications controller technology, will provide a high-speed network with communication speeds up to 1.3 Mbps.

The second award, from an unnamed operator, calls for deployment of equipment to control various wells and manifolds. Proserv will supply a fiber-optic communications system using its open communications hub technology for fully transparent communications and high-speed data monitoring from the subsea multiphase flow meters and control modules.
