Offshore staff
COLOMBO, Sri Lanka –Ahead of the scheduled road show regarding the second round of licensing of tracts offshore Sri Lanka, the prospects are drawing attention from a number of possible bidders.
A report by Bloomberg says the Petroleum Resources Development Secretariat has queries from Exxon Mobil, Total, Eni, BP, Oil & Natural Gas Corp. and the road show does not start until March 7 in Houston, March 12 in London, and March 21 in Singapore.
The road show events are being facilitated by IHS (NYSE:IHS).
The leasing is scheduled to cover 13 blocks off the northern and western coasts of Sri Lanka in the Cauvery and Mannar basins.
The blocks in the Cauvery basin range in size from 2,403 sq km (928 sq mi) in the shallow waters of the Palk Straight, between Sri Lanka and India, to 4,566 sq km (1,763 sq mi) in deepwater to the northeast of Sri Lanka. The blocks in the Mannar basin are larger, ranging in size from 2,714 sq km (1,048 sq mi) to 8,120 sq km (3,135 sq mi) in the deep to very deep waters of the Gulf of Mannar.
