Jurong orders Palfinger cranes for Brazil deepwater drillships

Jurong Shipyard has contracted Palfinger Dreggen for 28 cranes.

SALZBURG, Austria – Jurong Shipyard has contracted Palfinger Dreggen for 28 cranes. They will be installed on seven deepwater drillships based on the Jurong Espadon design to be built at Sembcorp Marine’s new Brazilian shipyard Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz.

Each vessel will be equipped with two DKF2000 pedestal knuckle boom cranes and two DKW2000 pedestal wireluffing cranes, with respective lifting capacities of 85 tons and 63 tons. Palfinger Dreggen will work on the consignment in cooperation with Brazilian company Koch Metalúrgica.

The company also has signed a contract with Technip for delivery of offshore cranes to the new platform serving DONG’sHejre field in the Danish North Sea.
