SINGAPORE– Diamond Offshore has contracted Keppel FELS to upgrade the semisubmersible Ocean Patriot, ahead of a charter for development drilling on Shell’s Fram field in the UK central North Sea.
Keppel FELS will fabricate and install four 24-ft (7.3-m) diameter stability columns and new lower hull inboard pontoon sponsons, and upgrade the living quarters.
The program is expected to start in June with re-delivery to follow at end-2013.
