ABERDEEN, UK – Apache North Sea has awarded Flexlife a one-year extension to a three-year subsea integrity and project management contract.

This covers all subsea infrastructures and pipelines on theForties and Beryl production complexes in the UK central North Sea.

Originally the scope was limited to pipeline support, but this has grown to take in project management of Apache’s new subsea developments to ensure compliance with UK offshore legislation.

Thirty Flexlife staff members in Aberdeen and Newcastle, northeast England, are working on the program. Recently, the team completed work on theBacchus subsea field development, a tieback to Forties, which is currently producing more than 10,000 b/d.

For the next major program, Flexlife has managed the fabrication of two 200-metric ton subsea isolation valves at Invergordon, northern Scotland. The company is tendering for construction support and DSV support vessels for installation in mid-year, with main tie- in work scheduled during a routine field shutdown this summer.
