Ukraine training center simulates offshore handling

ODESSA, Ukraine – Offshore crew provider Lerus has opened a new training center in Odessa, equipped with the latest Kongsberg offshore vessel simulator.

The facility has been established to meet growing demand for training in Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania and other European countries. It is the first in Ukraine to offer fully integrated offshore vessel operations training.

The simulator features a 240° field of view, providing realistic visuals for varied training scenarios, which are based on courses for handling of all types of offshore support vessels; dynamic positioning; crane operations (Stage 1,2, and 3); anchor handling; and towing/rig moves.

Simulations are also provided of a deck-mounted knuckle-boom crane or a wire-luffing lattice pedestal crane for platform lifting operations.
