Offshore staff
ABU DHABI, UAE – Kuwait Oil Co. has commissioned Topaz Marine Engineering to design and build 10 fast steel crew/pilot boats.
Each will have an overall length of 22 m (72 ft) and will accommodate 30 crew with all passengers seated on the main deck.
They will be provide around-the-clock crew transfer service to vessels anchored in Kuwait waters and will be equipped with oil spill recovery capability and advanced navigation and communication systems.
Construction will start early next year at Topaz’s Nico Craft Shipyard in Abu Dhabi, with all 10 boats scheduled for delivery during 2014. The contract value is about $50 million.
