MISC sells interest in Gumusut Kakap deepwater oil production unit

KUALA LUMPUR – MISC has approval to sell a half interest in its semisubmersible FPS Gumusut Kakap to Petronas’ subsidiary E&P Venture Solutions for $306 million, according to Lloyds.

The vessel will be able to produce 150,000 b/d of oil from subsea wells and will be installed in 1,200 m (3,936 ft.) of water offshore Sabah.

MISC says the sale will go to reducing its outstanding debts.
