Marathon orders subsea equipment for next-phase Alvheim work offshore North Sea

Marathon Oil Norge has ordered subsea trees from Aker Solutions for continued development of the Alvheim field in the North Sea.

STAVANGER, Norway --Marathon Oil Norge has ordered subsea trees from Aker Solutions for continued development of the Alvheim field in the North Sea.

Aker will supply four subsea trees and associated equipment, under a frame agreement with Marathon Oil Corp. covering the North Sea and Europe.

The trees will be manufactured in Tranby, Norway, and the control modules in Aberdeen, UK. The project is due to be completed during the first half of 2014.

Alvheim is 224 km (139 mi) offshore Stavanger, in a water depth of 122 m (400 ft).
