YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio– V&M Star has produced the first pipe at its new state-of-the-art mill in Youngstown, Ohio.

The mill will support the long-term development of shale exploitation in the US, which is driving demand for small diameter OCTG tubes and connections. Products also include linepipe, green pipe for drill pipe, and coupling stock.

V&M Star, a joint venture between Vallourec Group and Sumitomo Corp. Group, says the mill will have an initial production capacity of 350,000 tons of seamless pipes per year.
