Support vessel hostages freed in Nigeria

BOURBON confirms that seven crew members abducted last month while boarding the support vessel Bourbon Liberty 249 offshore Nigeria have been released.

MARSEILLE, France – BOURBON confirms that seven crew members abducted last month while boarding the support vessel Bourbon Liberty 249 offshore Nigeria have been released.

All appear to be in good health, and are being cared for by members of the BOURBON Emergency Unit in Nigeria where they are undergoing medical and psychological checks.

All seven employees will return to their own countries within the next few days to be reunited with families and friends.

BOURBON acknowledges the various parties that worked to secure their release, namely the Nigerian Police, Special Security Services and Joint Task Force, and the Nigerian, Russian, Estonian, Luxemburg, and French governments.
