STX contracts EMAS for turret, subsea package

SINGAPORE – EMAS has won two offshore orders from South Korean contractors with a total value close to $200 million.

STX Offshore & Shipbuilding has contracted the group’s subsea division EMAS AMC for engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of a turret mooring and subsea system for use offshore Africa.

Scope includes turnkey delivery of an external turret including the product swivel, a 3x3 anchor leg system, foundation piles, pipeline end manifold (PLEM), flowlines, risers, power cable, and related subsea structures.

Engineering and project management work is under way with offshore execution slated for 2015.

As for the second contract, EMAS AMC has entered into an agreement with DSME concerning use of an accommodation and hook-up support vessel offshore Africa. Operations should start early in 2014.
