QGOG receives Laguna Star ultra-deepwater drillship

QGOG Constellation says the Laguna Star ultra-deepwater drillship has arrived in Brazil and will go into operation for Queiroz Galvão Óleo e Gás (QGOG).

LUXEMBOURG — QGOG Constellation says the Laguna Star ultra-deepwater drillship has arrived in Brazil and will go into operation for Queiroz Galvão Óleo e Gás (QGOG).

Built by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea, the vessel can drill to 40,000 ft (12,192 m) in 10,000 ft (3,048 m) of water.

TheLaguna Star is the second drillship to be operated by QGOG. The Amaralina Star arrived in Brazil in August. The drillships are chartered to Petrobras under six-year contracts, with options to renew for six additional years.
