HOUSTON – Karoon Gas is seeking partners for it Z38 exploration block in Peru’s offshore Tumbes basin.

According to broker Indigo Pool, the concession is close to existing discoveries and producing fields. It is a large, unexplored permit with potential oil resources of more than 2 Bbbl.

Karoon has mapped 18 prospects and leads with multiple targets and play types, based on 3D seismic, and aims to drilling its first two wells in late 2013.

Offshore northwest Australia, the company is offering an LNG farm-in opportunity in Browse basin permit WA-314-P, adjacent to ConocoPhillips’ recent Boreas-1 andSantos’ Crown-1 gas discoveries.

A well is due to be drilled on the permit’s prime prospect around mid-2013. Gas finds could potentially be tied-in to thePoseidon development or form the basis for a floating LNG scheme.
