LONDON – The Falkland Islands government has granted a one-year extension to Rockhopper for production licenses PL023 and PL024 in the offshore North Falkland basin.

The extension applies to mid-November 2013, with no new work commitments. Rockhopper has a 40% interest in both cases.

Sam Moody, chief executive, said: “This will provide a further opportunity to evaluate the largely unexplored potential of these licenses, whilst we continue to work with Premier to advance theSea Lion project located elsewhere in the basin.”

Rockhopper also has interests in licenses PL003 and PL004, which have been extended until May 1, 2016, with a one-well work commitment during this period.
