OSLO, Norway – DNO International has issued a production update on the newly completed West Bukha-4 well in block 8 offshore Oman.

This was the longest reach well drilled to date off Oman, at nearly 6,000 m (19,685 ft). On a 54/64-in. choke the well flowed 7,000 b/d of 39º API oil and 15 MMcf/d (424,753 cm/d) of gas through a test separator.

West Bukha-4 will be connected to the export pipeline system within the next few days, and should eventually double current oil production from theWest Bukha field to 15,000 b/d.

This latest well is targeting an area not penetrated by previous drilling, and is the second of a three-well campaign initiated last year on the block.

DNO operates with a 50% interest, in partnership with South Korean company LG International.
