MOSCOW – Eurasia Drilling Co. (EDC) has provided an update on its well programs in the Caspian Sea.
During the first half of the year, the company’sAstra jackup was employed in Kazakh waters drilling on N block. At the end 2Q it transferred to Russian waters where it completed one well and started drilling a second.
During the first nine months of 2012, EDC drilled and completed five extended reach horizontal development wells onLukoil’s Yuri Korchagin field platform in the Russian sector. One well drilled in 3Q had a total measured depth of 6.4 km (20,997 ft).
TheSaturn jackup continued operations for Petronas Carigali (Turkmenistan) in Turkmen waters. Over the first nine months of 2012, it has drilled one well and four geological side tracks.
