D’Emerald agrees terms for Chinese jackup

D’Emerald Corp. has a memorandum of understanding with China Petroleum Liaohe Equipment Corp. (CPLEC) to acquire a new CP-300 jackup under construction at the Chinese yard.

SINGAPORE – D’Emerald Corp. has a memorandum of understanding with China Petroleum Liaohe Equipment Corp. (CPLEC) to acquire a new CP-300 jackup under construction at the Chinese yard.

The rig should be delivered by 2Q 2013.

Currently, D’Emerald is in negotiations with various parties interested in securing the rig for their future drilling operations.

Designed and manufactured by CPLEC, the CP-300-type rig can operate in water depths up to 300 ft (91.44 m), with a nominal drilling depth of 30,000 ft (9,000 m), and can accommodate up to 105 personnel.
